RACE DAY

Where does the race start?
The race starts at Trinity Reformed Church, 407 Franklin Street in Pella. Parking is available in the Trinity parking lot and downtown Pella.

What do I do with my color packet?
Bring it to race day! Throw it on yourself, your friend, your grandma, whoever you want before, during or after the race.

How is the color administered throughout the race?
We have awesome volunteers at five stations throughout the race whose main goal is to get you as colorful as possible! You can choose to run around stations as well if you don’t want to get as colorful.

Will there be a cleaning station after the race?
We will have a hose and fans available after the race. We suggest bringing towels for the car ride home.

GENERAL

Is there an age limit?
All ages can participate in the Color Blast as long as they can cover the 3 miles by running, walking, dancing, biking, or riding in a stroller. Children can be registered at a discounted price.

Is it timed?
This is an untimed race. There are plenty of great timed races but the Color Blast is all about a crazy fun colorful celebration!

Can I run/walk with a stroller?
Yes! Just understand it will get a little colorful.

Can I walk?
We like to emphasize the ‘FUN’ part of Fun-Run! You can walk, run, crawl, skip, bike, dance, cartwheel whatever method of movement works best for you to get across that finish line!

Are pets allowed?
For the first year ever, we are offering dog registration for your furry friends to join us. See the official rules and guidelines on the dog registration sheet. Dogs are the only animals allowed on race day. You can bring all the dogs you can handle. Keep in mind our dog guidelines.

How do I keep the cool color in my shirt?
We get it, the colors are awesome and the white shirts are boring. Soak it in vinegar, iron, dry and cold wash it. You can also find more helpful tips and tricks online.

Can the color hurt me?
It doesn’t bite! All of the colors are 100% natural and should not harm you in any way. Wearing sunglasses to keep color out of your eyes is a good idea.

Can I volunteer for the race?
Yes! Volunteers make our race fun and successful. Sign up here.

What do I wear?
We provide the white shirt for the race! Other than that you can wear whatever you want. There will be an award for best team outfit, so get creative! We suggest wearing items that you wouldn’t mind getting colorful, and making sure to wash your color run items separately from your other laundry.

Will the color ruin clothes / running shoes?
The color does mostly wash out after the event but we can’t gaurentee anything. As with anything dirty, the sooner you wash it the better.
