We started our day by going to church at a place close to our complex. At church, we could tell the Haitians serve the same God that we do, and I could feel the Holy Spirit was present. Their church had a lot of great singers! The small children sang some songs too; I loved seeing God working through them. Although we could not understand their language, we knew that God was there. What a great way to start our day.
In the afternoon, we took a ride by the river and through the mountains; what a beautiful sight to see! It is so beautiful here! In the evening, we went to the orphanage to visit all the children. Bill and Jennifer run the orphanage and are amazing people who care for each and every one of those kids with all their heart. They are truly following God’s calling. Some of the stories they shared with us were so heart breaking. It was evident to our entire group that they are doing what God has called them to do.
This trip has been so eye opening and soul searching on what God wants us to do with our lives. Even if sponsoring a child for a dollar a day sounds so small, but is so big for these people!
Want to make a difference in a Haitian’s life? Sponsor a child for only $30 month! See what kids are waiting to be sponsored by someone like you here.
Thank you for being open to going to Haiti. So many wonderful memories when I read all your stories. God bless you as you serve in His name and with His love.
Glad to hear that all is going well in Haiti! I’m sure it was a very interesting experience attending a worship service where you couldn’t understand the language. It shows just how strong God’s spirit is there when you are able to get so much out of a service! Sounds like your day was full of God sightings! Not only in the church service, but also in the Earth and children he created. Praying that you all continue to make a greater difference in Haiti – I’m sure you’ve made a big difference already!
I’m so proud of you for taking on this venture and along with Becky too! I knew you were going there with a purpose and under God’s leadership. I know you were all blessed beyond comprehension and look forward to hearing the stories of God working through you. At the same time, I’m looking forward to seeing you both Friday!
I Love You both Dearly!
I’m glad it’s Thursday and you are getting ready to come home. I bet it’s been quite an experience and can wait to see pictures and here about it. I wish I could have done something like this (before kids) because what an experience to take on and an eye opener for our purpose in life. I have been praying for you guys everyday and so has Calista 🙂 Love you!
