The team from Sunnybrook Community Church, Spencer IA, share the final days of their trip as they get ready to make their way home.

The last two days in Haiti has presented many opportunities to do the Lord’s work. We were able to help around the campus with jobs that needed doing.

Yesterday we took the trucks through the river and up the mountain to visit the school in Guimby.  We attempted to repair their water source, since the school has to walk 2 blocks through the woods to get clean water.  Sadly there were four breaks in the line, and we were not able to restore water on this trip. Hopefully the next team will bring the parts the school needs to fix the waterline when they visit.

We were able to share the story story of Noah’s Ark, spend time with the school children, and give them a snack and juice.

Sunnybrook put on a VBS at our new campus! The kids LOVED IT! Margarite dancing with girls at the VBS.

Later in the day we delivered food to 9 families; giving us the opportunity to meet two outstanding women that have unshakeable faith in Jesus Christ.  One women in particular shared with us her favorite bible verse, “The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the stronghold of my life, for whom shall I be afraid? Psalms 27: 1.”

We came across a 34 year old severely crippled man that needed comfort. We were able to bring him a bed, clean water, and most importantly pray with him in his time of need. The community he lives in has a strong voodoo presence; but everyone agreed they could feel the power of the Holy Spirit as we prayed over the man.

We are energized as we see the power of Jesus Christ working in the country.  We are learning and growing more in our faith as we interact with the Haitian community and go where the Holy Spirit guides.
