Market Rewards Team has had another busy day serving God in Haiti! After attending church and having lunch, the team set out to distribute food and the gospel to those in need.

We had an amazing experience in Haiti today. As a team, we visited UCI (United Christians International, another Christian organization in the area) to attend a church service and tour the university’s campus. The church service’s order was the same as back home, but each part of the church service was more passionate and in depth. Songs here in Haiti last longer because they sing as loud as possible to praise God. Throughout the service, we prayed and people were allowed to go up to the front and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Ready for lunch after church in the Haitian restaurant

After church this morning, we went to a Haitian restaurant in town. The restaurant had one meal choice, rice and beans with a chicken leg on top, a side of pasta, beet salad, and coleslaw.

Distributing food

Then we all met back at the Many Hands Campus to gather rice, beans, cooking oil, bouillon, and spaghetti. The team split into two groups to visit families with the supplies. Most importantly, our goal was to spread the word of Jesus Christ through praying with each individual family for its specific needs.

Calista and Mozena

The cooks had the day off today so we had to make our own supper. We decided to make grilled cheese and ham or just grilled cheese with a side of French fries and sliced mangos. The cooks for tonight were Carli, Liz, Kim, Emily, and I. It took some experimenting to figure out how to cook the Haitian bread. Everyone enjoyed the meal and gave us all compliments. Today was a great day for the group and for myself.
