What happens when people from different parts of the Bride of Christ come together in unity? Transformation that gives glory to the Father. This what we strive for – to transform together, to be love in action, in a broken world. See how these individuals stood as one to give a hand up to a family in need.

Greetings from Haiti! Our team this week is made up of our family of 6 and a group of 5 people from Lutheran Church of Hope in Iowa. This morning our team worked alongside a Haitian-led construction crew to pour a concrete floor for a family. This family consists of 6 adults and 6 children, who all live in a small house, sectioned off into 4 rooms. We were all impressed with how efficient and skilled the construction crew is. They patiently taught us how to mix the concrete and form a “bucket brigade” to haul the wet cement, while they expertly spread it. Even my 10-year old son and 7-year old daughter participated by returning the empty buckets so they could be refilled! The homeowners were so thankful for their new concrete floor, that they joined in on the work! I was amazed at how quickly we were able to work together, even though we had just met each other and we didn’t even speak the same language! It was a glimpse of what it will be like in heaven. Revelation 7:9 says that there will be “a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb”.
