Today was not quite the day that we had anticipated. The rain began last night before bedtime and continued through the night and all throughout Monday. Because of this, the schools in the area cancelled classes for the day, delaying our trip to Pella Christian of Pignon until tomorrow. While this could have been a damper on our day, we were reminded that Haiti is in much need of the rain. We spent much of the morning playing games and processing what had been seen and done in previous days.

Some of the highlights of the day included playing in the rain, a few mud fights, spending some time together in conversation, delivering a goat to a family and also delivering a couple of mattresses to a family as well.

Our day ended with some time in song and and prayer and remembering that Jesus is our Lord and Savior whom we can reflect each day. It was a great ending for our last full day in Haiti as we reflected back on the week and also anticipated what lies ahead as we return home to Iowa.

A Reminder of God’s Promise

The plan, God willing, is to depart Pignon Airport at 12:30 p.m. tomorrow and travel to Florida. On Wednesday we will complete our journey back to Pella.
