Viewing Daily Life From A New Perspective: Another Day in Haiti for the Huysers
Leah and Jager Huyser are newly married 19-year-olds with hearts and minds for God and the work He calls them to in Haiti. The couple has been in Haiti for a few days and share their perspectives on the differences in daily life in Haiti as compared to the United States. This blog is written by Leah and Jager.
After church, we rode back to the campus and took part in watching a bull get slaughtered to provide food for the next few weeks. It was interesting to experience this happening in a way that is very different than how this process happens in America. However, it was a very good lesson to learn patience.
Afterwards, we ventured into town and ate some wonderfully cooked and prepared food. To end our day, we visited five homes that were selected by Many Hands for food distribution. During this time, we were able to witness God’s hand in the lives of many families. To see individuals with disabilities and many hardships persevering through life with smiles and warmth to receive the Lord’s blessing is such a gift.
It truly was a blessing to us to be blessed by these individuals in such a life-changing way.
