Building a Brighter Future: Expanding the Many Hands School of Light
Tyler Kamerman, Chief Development Officer, explains how and why Many Hands plans to amplify their educational impact. By expanding our Many Hands School of Light to include grades 7-9, we’re laying the foundation for brighter futures in Haiti.
A Foundation for Change
The Many Hands School of Light has been a catalyst for transformation in the heart of Pignon, Haiti. By providing quality Christian education, leadership development, and entrepreneurial opportunities, we are empowering young minds to become influential leaders within their families, communities, and nation.
“We have been faithful to a vision for education, starting with children in their mother’s womb and walking them through their formal, primary education,” said Tim Brand.

A Proven Track Record
Since its inception, the School of Light has achieved remarkable results. Our students consistently demonstrate exceptional academic performance, with a grade-level passing rate of 96.9%. This success is attributed to our dedicated teachers, enriched curriculum, supportive learning environment, and a focus on remaining faithful to God’s guidance.

The Next Chapter: Expanding to Grades 7, 8, and 9
To build upon this foundation, we are excited to announce our plans to expand the school to include grades 7, 8, and 9. By completing the fundamental school, we will create a seamless educational pathway for our students, allowing them to thrive academically and personally.

Phase I: Building the Foundation
Our initial phase focuses on constructing a new two-story, six-classroom school building. This expansion will accommodate our first 7th-grade class in September 2025. Additionally, we will invest in essential infrastructure, including student latrines, classroom equipment, and teacher training.

Phase II: Creating a Comprehensive Campus
The second phase will enhance our campus with additional office space, an expanded library, a teacher’s meeting space, and recreational facilities like a soccer field and basketball court. These amenities will enrich the overall student experience and foster a strong sense of community.
